Characteristics of a healthy dog

• General appearances : alert, lively; good muscle tone.

• Coat : glossy and unbroken

• Skin : smooth and supple. 

• Gait : smooth and effortless movement. 

• Eyes : clear and shining

• Nose : moist and cool with no secretions. 

• Mouth : pink gums and lips, not bluish or ash coloured; pleasant –smelling breathe. 

• Body : no lumps or masses, especially around the nipples. 

• Urination : clear yellow, not orange, although colour may be altered temporarily by certain drugs. 

• Defecation : stools should be well-formed and eliminated regularly.
